The RVE Scheme was set up in November 2009 to deliver a united village approach from businesses and retail outlets in Rhiwbina, thus creating a wider community ambience for both the Summer Festival and the Christmas Victorian Evening.

The thinking behind the scheme developed from the Christmas Tree project when an initial instillation and set up cost of around £6000 was to be followed by an ongoing annual cost estimated at £1600. In addition, there would be the usual round of prize giving and awards associated with the various Victorian Evening and Summer Festival initiatives.

Whilst Rhiwbina Village Events Committee were delighted to report that the accounts were robust and healthy and able to meet the commitment for 2009, it became apparent that a regular financial support source would be required for future continuation of the events and such projects.

With this in mind they instigated the RVE support scheme which is open to all local businesses within Rhiwbina and if you take a look around you will see each of these members displaying their window sticker to indicate Friend, Supporter or Partnership level of engagement.

All the businesses displaying this logo are helping to make sure you have a great time at the Summer Festival and the Christmas Victorian Evening so please show your appreciation in recognising their support. In addition, please listen out for special announcements from these businesses about offers they are making to you as part of the Village Event Celebrations.
